Millions of alligators dwell in the freshwater coastal rivers, lakes, and marshes of the South-Eastern USA. So while alligator hunting is possible in Texas, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Mississippi, it’s no surprise that the swampy conditions of Florida make our state prime gator hunting land.
Triple M Outfitters is located near Orange County, FL, which makes our private land ideal for private alligator hunts. We’re centrally located in Florida. Close to several airports and just a short drive from Orlando.
Florida allows public land hunts and private land hunts. We’ll break down the differences and let you decide which Florida alligator hunt is best for you.
Alligator Hunt – Public Land Hunts
Florida opens a limited number of public permits each year, but it can be expensive if drawn. You may still need to hire a guide if you are unfamiliar with alligator hunting or have the proper gear.
The way public land hunting in Florida works is that you can apply for permits beginning in mid-May. You are limited to two tags if you are lucky enough to have your application accepted. You’ll have to get your hunt in between August- November of the year your permit is issued. License Fees: Residents $272, Nonresidents $1,022.
Alligator Hunts – Private Land Hunts
Private land hunts are available year-round. The outfitter you select may offer various options, including multi-day hunts, weapons, lodging, and taxidermy. A private land hunt should include the price of a tag whether you are a Florida resident or traveling from out of state for your adventure.
Because your days are more flexible, you can schedule a hunt for groups of varying sizes. Additionally, you are not limited to two tags like you are with a public hunt.
Of course, the benefits of private land hunts don’t end there. At Triple M Outfitters you won’t have to compete with other hunters during your scheduled hunt. This will allow you also to spend time enjoying the beautiful Florida scenery.
